Natalie + Brad Married in an Intimate Backyard Gathering

Natalie and Brad are now Mr. and Mrs. Wilgus. July 2, 2016.

These are two people whom I'm amazed to have crossed paths with.  Awesomeness and more awesomeness.

I usually insist on getting to know my clients far before their wedding day, but with Brad and Natalie, I took the job and went to their wedding 'couple un-met'. Their wedding planner assured me that I would love them. And she was spot on. I definitely did. So much so that I spent the first hour trying to figure how exactly it was that they landed in Utah in the first place. Turns out that they're transplants to the beehive state and that they actually fell in love on the west coast many years ago. ahh... make's So much sense.

Brad and Natalie were married at the private residence of Mr and Mrs Walgus senior. Their ceremonial aisle was made of the lush green grass that covers the  grounds of the incredible home that was inspired by the Gothic Revivalist Andrew Jackson Downing. Red brick, patinaed iron and a beautiful sun-filled bridal room that a photographer can only dream of.

As a member of the Piute Tribe and an officiant of the Native American Church, Brad's father officiated Brad and Natalie's wedding ceremony. He wove Christianity and Native American traditions and customs together in such a beautiful way that I honestly lack the words to explain. I can only say that it came directly from his heart. And that it was beautiful.

Brad and Natalie are bound for glory. I have no doubt about this. Just have a look at their images and take note of the- dare I say.. mischievous twinkle in their eyes.

Beautiful people. Beautiful love. Thank you Brad and Natalie for letting me be a part of your day. xo

Kelli + Cameron Married at the Zermatt Resort in Midway, Utah

Kelli + Cameron. Married at the Zermatt Resort in Midway, Utah. May 21, 2016.

When I was asked to photograph Kelli and Cameron’s wedding at the Zermatt Resort in Midway, Utah, I immediately said, “Yes” (just like that, capitalized and all). Being married in Midway is close to my own heart, as I was also married in midway eleven years ago. Midway is a beautiful high mountain valley that, when spring sets in and the grasses show their green and the blooms burst into a magnitude of colors, it is one of the most amazing places that I’ve known.

Kelli and Cameron are an amazing couple who radiate a comfortable authenticity that is contagious. Their smiles are free flowing and they were the perfect picture of happiness the whole day and evening, surrounded by fantastic friends and family that few are blessed with.

Thank you Kellie Cushing for helping me photograph this wedding. Kellie is a Denver based photographer.

Bradford Overton

A portrait session with an artist. Here's a bit of what he says about his work

As an artist, I’m interested in the choices I can make, the inventory or “visual vocabulary” I can build which is unique to me but accessible to those I come into contact with through my paintings. At times I choose subjects or arrangements because they are funny, which is essential and miraculous. Other paintings are meant to host the sublime, which is the undercurrent of our world; it’s origin and mystery. Other paintings are meant to remind the viewer of an aspect or attribute to lay claim to. But the common thread is that they are meant to serve the viewer. I paint paintings that I want to see, that I can’t wait to paint. I simply trust my own interest and taste expecting others to come along.
