Utah Wedding Photographer specializing in portrait, family, and editorial photography. Missoula and throughout Montana and Yelapa Mexico.
Hi, my name is
Sarah Galli
And I'm a
Photographer
As a photographer, I bring a calm, grounded, and laid-back presence to every session. With years of experience and a comfortable, mature approach, I know how to create space for you to feel at ease—no pressure, no pretense.
Whether it's your wedding day, a portrait session, or a family portrait session, my goal is to help you feel like yourself in front of the camera: whatever that looks like in your natural form. I’m here for those who want to look and feel good without feeling like they have to perform. No diva energy—just real moments, honestly documented.
If you're looking for a wedding or portrait photographer in Park City, the Tetons, Yelapa, or wherever your story takes you, I’d love to connect.
Why I love my profession
Imagine: a vineyard in Italy, a beach in Mexico, a grassy field in Montana, or the forests of the North Shore of Lake Superior, you’re marrying your love, surrounded by a handful of your people—the ones who understand and value your vision- those that love you enough to travel to the place where you dream of marrying the other half of your heart. Add to this vision that you're in a beautiful, inspiring place that feels new and alive, likely with incredible cuisine waiting to be shared.
Often, you've scribbled this vision down on a napkin over drinks, but there’s only so much in there that you can control—in the end, it’s really about the excitement, the setting and the love of your friends and family surrounding you and the stories that come from it, the memories that you recall afterward.
The fact that I get to be there—documenting all of this, laughing and crying alongside you—that’s it. That’s the best way I can explain to you why I’ve poured my heart and career into this work.
My Style
With a photojournalistic approach, I document the candid emotions and fleeting moments that make your wedding unique. My style is unobtrusive, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the joy of the day, knowing that I’m there to capture every significant detail. You may not remember seeing me amidst the blur of the day, but when you look back at your images, you'll find every bit of your celebration beautifully preserved.
I started this work because I love how photographs can hold so much—connection, story, emotion. And I’ve stayed in it because I’m endlessly inspired by the people I meet and the trust that they offer me. It's a privilege to step into someone's world and create something meant to last for forever.
Highlights
- I’m based in Missoula, Montana and in Yelapa, Mexico. I split my time between the two because one has mountains and the desert and the other has rivers and the ocean -and really, who can make that choice?
- I’ve been married for 23 years and have one little girl and two small dogs that sometimes wear sweaters.
- I went to art school, twice. The first time in the 90's and in Minneapolis, earning and Associates in Arts with Certifications in Technical Film Analog Photography, Darkroom Photo Development and studio lighting. The second time in the 2014 at the University of Utah earning a BFA Photography and Digital Imaging with a minor in Print Making.
- I like people with authenticity. I like people who have quirks and people who can’t tell a joke with a straight face. These are my kind of people.
- I’m originally from Minnesota. Enough said.
- I’m not above telling you a dad joke in order to make you laugh, anything to save you from your awkward smile-for-the-camera-face.
My story
I photographed my first wedding in Minneapolis in 1997. At the time I was a college student managing a campus darkroom. I shot that first wedding on film -it was a long time ago. Digital photography had just come on to the scene, but it all sounded just a little too futuristic.
When I had completed a degree in Analog Photography, I packed my car and headed west to master the life of a surf bum in southern California.
Fast forward to 2004 and I’m married and living in the mountains of Utah near Park City and I'm working in private practice in Park City as a sports injury massage therapist, with mostly olympic and other professional competitive athletes as my clientele. I love my profession, but not the office situation, and so I decide to go back to school for Photography.
In 2014 I graduate from the University of Utah with my BFA in Photography and Digital Imaging. I continue photograph my travels, the culture around me and a lot of landscapes from the sky. I start getting published in magazines and slowly transition from my private practice as a therapist and into a full time photographer.
Now days, I split my time between Missoula, Montana, and Yelapa, Mexico. I’ve been happily married for 23 years, and our family consists of three humans and two dogs. As a full-time wedding, family, portrait, and editorial photographer, I still travel as often as I can, always with a camera in hand. I strive to create images that tell stories about life.
